The U.S. Biochar Initiative is now the American Biochar Institute (ABI).
This rebrand marks an exciting next chapter, not just for us, but for the broader biochar industry as it continues to grow and mature across North America.
As Myles Gray, ABI’s Executive Director, puts it:
“As biochar becomes ingrained in agriculture and other key sectors as a circular, waste-to-value solution, durable end-use markets and trusted standards become essential to its long-term success.”
That’s exactly where ABI is focused: building the foundation for long-term growth through science-based guidance, rigorous standards, and stronger industry coordination.
